As 2011 approached I felt that this was going to be a big year. My dad kept telling me how he felt it would be a year of change and I can now say, I agree with him. The motto of "Changes" has been ringing around my ears for a month or two now. And now that we are just starting 2011 I agree, this is going to be a year of change.
Some changes that I know are coming and that are inevitable are:
-Graduating with my Bachelor's from CBU
-Starting the process to become a credentialed teacher
-Turning 22
-Two of my dear friends tying the knot in April
-My man hitting his "mid-twenties"
-My dad turning the big 5-0
-My parents celebrating their 25th Anniversary
-My "baby" brother starting his senior year of high school
Just writing those makes my chest tighten. From December on I found myself crying every time I think about these changes. I do not do well with change so you can imagine 2011 is going to be a tough year.
HOWEVER
I'm realizing I'm not alone when it comes to all these changes. Jeremiah 33:3 says to call on God and He will show great and might things I don't know. Psalm 37:4 says if I delight in Him, He will give me the desires of my heart. Throughout Scripture God lets me know that He is in the midst of change.
He is here through all of this and all I need to do is stay focused on Him through all of this change. He doesn't promise it to be a piece of cake but He does promise that it is part of His plan and that He is here.
Change is a good thing. That is how we grow up. So 2011, let's start the change.
